Why “Rental Domains”?
Have you ever thought about who reeeeaaally owns a domain name? In my opinion “no one” really owns a domain name. When you “register a domain” you do become the registrant of that domain as soon as you pay the “Registration Fee” for a set period of time, usually one year. I call this is a “Rental Fee for a Rental Domain”. With a paid rental fee you get “control” of said domain for the period of time stipulated in the registration transaction and really all you get to own out of this deal is “the first rights of refusal” to continue paying the “rental fee” each year for said rental domain. If you give up your “first right of refusal” by not paying the yearly “rental fee” you will give up control of your domain name to someone else that is willing to pay the “rental fee” once the domain is released back into the pool of available domain names. You can also sell your domain before renewal is due and then the new said “owner” continues to pay the yearly rental fee. This goes on and on for the good domains
It is hard to comprehend “owning” something that you can not see, touch or feel like an intangible intellectual property or domain name but they are what they are, something that no one reeeeaaally owns. Just see how fast you lose “ownership” if you refuse or forget to pay the “rental fee” that has come due.
This is why we chose Rental Domains as our web address back in early 1999. With that being said, here is something that Bill Gates is quoted as saying:
“Domains have and will continue to increase in value more than any other commodity EVER known to man”

Keep on domaining!!!
